A smaller town with a population of approximately 10,000 residents, Glocester includes the villages of Bowdish, Chepachet, Clarkville, Durfee Hill, Harmony, Spring Grove and West Glocester. It’s ranked as the second-safest town in Rhode Island by Niche.com.

The town offers vibrant shopping opportunities in the village of Chepachet. The northern part of the town offers state-owned parks and forests. In Glocester you’ll find lakes, ponds and several larger bodies of water belonging to the Providence Water Supply System.

Glocester provides easy access to destinations throughout Rhode Island and beyond. The capital city of Providence is 20 miles away. Glocester is bordered by Burrillville on the north, Smithfield on the east, Foster and Scituate on the south, and Killingly and Putnam, Connecticut, on the west. Putnam Pike, also known as Route 44, runs from the center of Glocester to Putnam. The other major highway through Glocester is Route 102.

Schools in Glocester are part of the Foster-Glocester regional district. Included in the district are two elementary schools, Fogarty Memorial and West Glocester Elementary School. Middle school and high school students attending public schools go to Ponaganset Regional Middle School and Ponaganset Regional High School, both located nearby in North Scituate.
